Our Goal: Restoring the vital 'Chameleon Corridors'
-

Our Mission
1. To protect the unique cloud forests of the Eastern Arc Mountains
2. To safeguard their critically endemic species
3. Fostering a new generation of conservation stewards.

Our Vision
Through education and fostering emotional connection with chameleons, inspire a deeper understanding of their vital role in our shared ecosystems, reduce fear-based killings and motivate farming communities to reforestation of the vital 'Chameleon Corridors' - the Eastern Arc Mountains.
-

Approach
We achieve this by leveraging the unique and relatable narrative of Chameleon Corridors film, with the voice of the famous Tanzanian actor Oni Sigalla and a brave young protagonist Anna, in a powerful combination with engaging, integrating activities designed to create a connection between communities, wildlife and nature at large.
Chameleon Corridors film screening
The film screening was designed for maximum immersion, presented on a vibrant 15sqm LED screen with dynamic surround sound. This technical setup transcended traditional viewing, placing audiences directly into the chameleon's world. Crucially, the film was screened in Kiswahili with English subtitles, ensuring broad accessibility and deep cultural resonance for local Tanzanian audiences.
"My Climate Hero Story" Workshop
After the screening, secondary students joined a storytelling workshop led by the African School of Storytelling (AFRISOS). Using a step-by-step guide, they wrote their own Climate Hero Stories inspired by Anna, the film’s protagonist who sparked change in her community. This exercise put the idea of climate action directly into their hands.
Students then shared their stories on stage, many choosing Kiswahili to connect with peers. Their pledges ranged from fighting plastic pollution and leading ocean cleanups to preventing soil erosion and planting trees for birthdays. The energy was powerful, and every story showed how young voices can lead real change.
"The Art of Overcoming Fear" colouring circle
Our Chameleon Art Tent used creativity and conversation to shift how children see chameleons. We began by asking about their fears and fascinations, then shared fun facts — including that Tanzania is home to 47 species, the second-highest in the world. This not only surprised them but also sparked national pride.
Afterward, each child coloured their own chameleon outline. Some stayed with green, others experimented boldly with black or bright shades, sparking laughter and creativity. The activity helped even the most hesitant kids connect emotionally, and nearly all proudly carried their colourful chameleons home — a small but powerful reminder of their shared experience.
"Visualizing the sounds of nature" sensory immersion
In partnership with Andy Byatt (Amberjack Films), sound editor Nicholas Allan, and sound mixer Andrew Wilson, we created an immersive natural history sound experience. Children entered a quiet space, closed their eyes, and journeyed through rainforests, acacia savannahs, and river habitats using Allan’s rich audio library.
The 25-minute session turned listening into art. Students drew what they “heard” on a shared canvas, translating sound into personal expression. This mindful, creative activity built a powerful connection to nature’s soundscapes, it was so engaging that many didn’t want to leave.
